Pixel Art – After working on several tiny icons for projects, I’m realizing how much I dig little pixel art. Check out this zombie hand icon. Yummy, no?

While moving out of my apartment in Bellingham last week, I found this 3 year old sketch pad with drawings from my old art classes. I was pleased to discover I’m not terrible at art! With so much “designing”, I’ve grown apart from my “art” roots. That must be remedied quickly.

So when I get my hands on those photos I’ll link ‘em here. Posted!

Thanks to the ever talented & so, so sneaky Erik Simkins for these photos!

WWU Senior Portfolio Exhibition / “We are Many”

Essay on a Hidden Memorial

I’m doing a paper on memorials right now, and I snapped some pics from my crappy little phone as the sun was setting on this beautiful piece. It has no artist listed anywhere, nor any mention in Western’s sculpture collection, not even an article online. It’s a memorial to 6 hikers who died on Mount Baker in 1939, tucked into a hidden corner of campus in a circle of rocks and grass looking out over the bay. It’s mysterious and beautiful.

You can read my short essay after the jump.
